Frequently Asked Questions
Ordering custom artwork
“How do I commission a wood burned piece?”
Contact me via email through the contact page or by phone and we can discuss what can be achieved for your sentimental piece.
“Is there a deposit required for commissioned pieces?”
Commissioned artwork requires a 20% deposit that is non-refundable to secure the order. The remaining cost is required on the date the item is shipped. All commissioned pieces are final.
“How long does it take to have a commissioned piece completed?”
Commissioned art can take 1 week to-3 months to complete depending on size, artwork requirements and time of year. If it is required for a specific date, it is recommended to order early to ensure it can be completed on time.
“Are photos required as reference material for the commissioned piece?”
It is recommended (but not mandatory) to provide photos of the individual (s), pets etc for capturing individual profiles and details that can make the piece as close to the memory as possible. Photos are not shared beyond the artist.
“Are shipping costs included or additional?”
Shipping costs are additional unless otherwise arranged within the cost of the piece.
“Does the artwork come with hangers installed?”
Yes, all wood burned artwork has hangers installed to ensure the piece is ready to be hung upon receipt with the exception of charcuterie boards or at the request of the buyer.
Intellectual Property Rights
“Can I duplicate and/or sell images of the purchased piece?”
No. With the purchase of a commissioned or “shop” adventure piece, the intellectual property rights remain with the artist. The buyer cannot reproduce the artwork, whether it was a commissioned piece or an out of the “shop” piece. It is only to own the individual artwork and appreciate it. The artist will always own the right to reproduce the artwork, unless the rights were specifically negotiated and purchased. In the case of a commissioned piece and their personal nature, the artist will use discretion.
